School Council
Participation is about children and young people in Wales – having a voice when decisions are being made that affect them, and being actively involved in making decisions. This right is set out in Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
The School Council is a vibrant and active association of pupils who represent and voice the opinions of all pupils. The School Council meets regularly to ensure that issues raised can be communicated, discussed and acted upon. Sub-committees of the School Council include a charities committee, wellbeing committee and an anti-bullying committee. The School Council aims to ensure that all pupils can engage with the values of Dyffryn Taf and take an active role in maintaining its ethos, knowing that their opinions are valued and that they are listened to.
