What kind of work will I do outside the classroom?

Tuition will be provided through real-time online tutorials and teaching lessons for Further Mathematics. Students log into the online classroom and can interact with FMSPW tutor during the lessons. The lessons are followed up with additional exercises and support from the tutor. Students have access to extensive, purpose-written online resources.

All students are required to complete homework regularly and teachers will be copied into any communication with their students regarding completion of homework. Predicted grades will only be generated by FMSPW where students have completed a minimum of 75% of the home/coursework.

What could I do at the end of my course? (Progressions)

Further Maths is looked upon EXTREMELY FAVOURABLY for access to many degree courses and can often lead to a reduced grade offer for students who study it. An increasing number of Russell Group universities are asking for further maths for mathematics and engineering courses.

Student case studies:

I was very thankful because I wouldn’t have been able to study FM without FMSPWales. The teachers were amazing. Students should definitely have a go at Further Maths if thinking about it. It takes time, but it is doable and rewarding when you get it right. Getting an A* in Further Maths is something to be proud of. Ask a lot of questions; my experience is that FMSP tutors are very good at answering questions. It was good to study FM through FMSPWales.

Entry Requirements: GCSE Maths A*/A (Higher tier), Additional Maths (favourable)
