Medical Science applied diploma
Medical Science is the science of dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention and treatment of diseases. 
The Level 3 Applied Diploma in Medical Science is for learners who are interested in careers related to healthcare and medical research. Medical scientists are at the forefront of healthcare services, as they are vital in the diagnosis of disease, determining the effectiveness of treatments and searching for new cures.

How will I be assessed? (Assessment)
All the units are mandatory and assessed either internally or by externally set examination or task.
Written examinations Units 1 & 6

What kind of work will I do outside the classroom?
Students of Medical Science will find a strong emphasis on independent study and self-evaluation leading to progression. Students will be required to read up on the subject before the lesson to promote a deeper understanding during the lesson. There will be revision required for the examination- based units, and preparation, including practical rehearsals for the internal assessments.
What could I do at the end of my course? (Progressions)
On successful completion of a Level 3 qualification, a learner can progress to or within employment and/or continue their study in the same, or related vocational area. Many students from Dyffryn Taf have used this qualification, combined with other vocational qualifications, WBQ and A levels, to progress to Higher Education and apprenticeships.
Entry Requirements: GCSE Grades C in English Language, Mathematics and Science with a portfolio of other grades A*-G (WBQ level 2 pass or above is an advantage).
